oh chanel resort wear, you are like a treat for the eye. and although many may not wear you, i still appreciate your little twin star-esque glory. in fact, it feels like i’ve been on vacation just looking at you. a delicate mix of japanese touches with some french sensibilities, kind of like marie antoinette meets hello kitty. this is more like museum wear. but we wouldn’t expect anything less from chanel, now would we? xoxo kate

oh little black this, little black that. whatever the medium, Chanel has always got us covered. which is how this book project came to be. first the exhibit came to tokyo and now later in the year will be travelling to London. snapped by Karl Lagerfeld with the assistance of styling by Carine Roitfeld, the same little black jacket is used over and over on celeb, musician, muse, model alike. redefining and reestablishing the classic piece and the many which ways and worlds it can live in.

you might not know this, but occasionally i make my own clothes. this old thing… is a little something i put together a few weeks back to go to a fashion show. ok, and let me gush…the biggest compliment came when women were asking me where they can buy it!! i have never considered myself a designer, but among a group of fashionable people to be noticed for what i was wearing, was, well, really fuckin cool. ok, i’ll stop… but first i will feature my frock. hand dyed, burned, and shredded in its web of glory.

Melissa Gidney has been a friend of mine for some time and i am so fortunate that she wanted to take pictures of me. gone are the days where one conjures images of jessica simpson in her daisy’s when the word is spoken. not that there’s anything wrong with her. but the game has changed. and if i were truly to pick one major trend for your spring summer season that i adore, it would be shorts. the cuties are everywhere these days and i’m not just talking denim. lace, cotton, wool. Lets get physical, Chanel styles
I truly believe that style does not have to stop anywhere. Can I convince you of this…maybe not. But Chanel can. You may or may not be aware that the product line continues well beyond the iconic bags (so does the price tag). I delved deeper into this line last year when a Chanel guitar was placed in my lap. Since then I’ve had many a sleepless night, tossing and turning, contemplating and justifying(the boomerang might be a better price point for me. see below) and so here I pass the disease on to you. Sweet dreams…
