art attack…

another emerging artist from australia, Victoria Garcia and her project titled SURROCODELIA is a staggering work of beauty. an instalation comprised of four walls, a floor and roof. all seamlessly connected of 60 panels. all unique. all hand drawn. It was no surprise to me to learn she is working with big fashion houses in textiles. only one peek of these panels and i imagine a silk scarf dancing. for the love of fauna and flora.

rodarte goes to the opera…

one of the many reasons to love rodarte, the sisters behind the brand use the theatrics of their design to reach a different audience, the opera. part one of a three season collaboration, Don Giovanni at the Disney Hall and the LA Philharmonic. Through different collaborations, the Mulleavy sisters are not only reaching a different audience but revamping the art itself in a thoughtful and fresh way. From the black swan to opera, they are certainly spreading the love for the greater good.
